From La Joyère to Chalet
For many years, the Serviced apartments La Joyère Serviced apartments were operated by the Allianz employee association. In 2024, this exceptional property was purchased and completely renovated by the Lacombe family, marking the start of a new hospitality venture in Le Grand-Bornand.
A Renaissance Defined by Excellence
It was in the Lot department, near Figeac, that our journey to renovate the family farm into a tourist accommodation began. Building on our successful experience in developing La Ferme du Cayla in the Lot, we wanted to create something unique for this new property in Le Grand-Bornand.

For these two ambitious programs, we enlisted the help of the École hôtelière de Lausanne, a global leader in the hospitality industry, which assisted us in conducting a comprehensive analysis of these projects.
With the help of top-notch teams (27Architecture, GATEEC) and local businesses and craftsmen, we rose to the challenge of renovating the entire property in 18 months!
This collaboration between international expertise, local know-how, and family passion—all set against the backdrop of an exceptional region—has given rise to a unique project that combines Savoyard tradition with the highest standards of hospitality.
The Origin of the Name "Valora"
The nameChalet was born from the creative imagination of six students at the École hôtelière de Lausanne. They wanted to create an identity that perfectly captures the essence of the place by combining:
- The “Val” of the Bouchet Valley, setting the chalet its exceptional natural backdrop
- "Aura" evokes the unique radiance and special atmosphere that characterize our establishment
This harmonious blend of the local terroir and the warm atmosphere of the place truly brings the name Valora to life.
